The Bank of Iwate, established in 1932, as a key financial institution in Iwate Prefecture, the largest prefecture on Japan's main island of Honshu. The prefecture, which is the Bank's business base, boasts a wide range of activity, from traditional industries to advanced technology. The Bank is committed to offering all manner of products and services with an eye to the new financial age, and is boldly stepping forward together with Iwate Prefecture.

The Bank of Iwate group, consisting of the Bank itself,six subsidiaries and one affiliate as of the end of June 2024, is engaged in offering a wide variety of financial services centered on the banking business, including leasing business and credit cards business.

As of the end of March 2024, the Bank of Iwate had total assets of ¥3,925 billion (US$25,923 million) and total deposits of ¥3,485billion (US$23,018 million).

In 1994, the building of the old Nakanohashi Branch(*) in Morioka City(the former head office) was designated an important cultural property.
